Bridesmaid Duties | Wedding Day

When it comes to the wedding day, every role matters. Among the most crucial roles are those of the bridesmaids.

For me personally, the below bridesmaid roles are most important/critical to ensuring the wedding day goes off without a hinge, and what I will be assigning all of my bridesmaids for my wedding day morning of.

BRIDESMAID DUTIES…LET’S GET INTO IT!

1. The Caretaker & Question Answering Queen (AKA HEAD BITCH IN CHARGE)

The caretaker AKA “head bitch in charge” is like the lifeline of the wedding day, ensuring everything runs smoothly. This role is perfect for the mother figure or the most responsible person in the group, often the Maid of Honor.

Assign these roles to your maid of honor/(s)…

Aka the head bitch/bitches in charge!

This bridesmaid serves as the point of contact for the wedding planner, handling any issues that may arise and answering questions from the bridal party. They also knows where all the brides' stuff is, handling any questions or needs the bride might have during the wedding day.

2. The Timeline Keeper:

The Timeline Keeper ensures everything is running on schedule. This role should be assigned to your most responsible friend, who is always on time, and also knows the groom and groomsmen well.

From communicating with the groom to tracking makeup and hair schedules, the timeline keeper ensures everyone is on time and in the right place throughout the day.

3. The Glam Manager:

The Glam Queen

Ensures the Bride looks her absolute best not only for the “walk down the aisle", but through out the entire nights festivities.

The Glam Manager ensures the bride looks picture-perfect throughout the day. This responsibility falls to a close friend who has an excellent aesthetic eye, is good with makeup and hair, and understands the bride's desired look.

From overseeing the makeup and hair process to packing an emergency touch-up kit, the glam manager ensures the bride looks her best. They also follow the photographer post-ceremony, ready to assist the bride if needed.

4. The Content Creator:

This bridesmaid is in charge of starting a shared ablum and sharing it out with as many people attending the wedding as possible that she knows. They will also start a separate shared album that is just shared with the bridesmaids, to capture all the behind-the-scenes moments of the wedding gettitng ready morning of!

Ideally assign this role to someone who is A) great at taking footage and photos and B) knows the largest majority of the wedding guests, so that they can share the album out with as many people as possible.

This role is perfect for a friend who is very well connected in the Bride & Grooms social circle.

CONTENT creator

This person is in charge of starting a shared album and sharing it out with the entire wedding party + any guests of the Bride/Groom at the wedding that you know. They will also attempt to capture as much footage during the morning of getting ready part of the day, if the bride doesn’t hire a full time content creator

Trust me - The bride will thank you!

5. The Photographer / Videographer POC:

The photographer/videographer POC ensures not only do the photographer & videographer know exactly how to get to the bridal suite, but that they have no issues with the photography shotlist.

Your vendors won’t know who anyone is, so having a POC who knows the entire bridal part to help direct traffic is super helpful. This also helps keep the tight wedding timeline on schedule, if the photogtapher isn’t having to tract people down, and can rapid fire through the photo shotlist.

This role is perfect for a sister or sister-in-law, who knows all the MVPs in the family and can help point them out to the professional photographer. I assigned this role to my sister in law at my own wedding, and it was flawless.

6. The Details Queen:

The details Queen

Assign this role to the bridesmaid that has the same attention to detail as you do, OR BETTER!

The details queen ensures everything looks imaculate. From ensuring dresses are steamed on time to making sure everyone looks perfect, the details queen leaves no stone unturned.

They also ensure flowers are dry so they won't stain the bridesmaid dresses after you get them out of the flower vases, and do the final aesthetic check that everyone looks good to walk down the aisle ie) NO hair scrunchies on wrists or god forbid apple watches.

7. The Food & Bev Bestie:

Food & Beverage Bestie

The food & beverage bestie is everyone’s fav person on the wedding day morning of

The food and bevi manager ensures everyone is well-fed and has a glass of bubbly in their hand. This role is perfect for any bridesmaid who doesn't already have a task.

From placing a delivery food order, or going and picking up the food order, this person should ensure that everyone is taken care of. This doesn’t mean they have to pay for everything, but they should be in charge of organizing and taking everyone’s order.

Also in charge of making sure bubbly doesn't run out, and/or assigning certain people to bring the champs or placing the room service order. the food and beverage bestie is everyone’s best friend on the wedding morning of, and def a critical duty to assign one of your bridesmaids!

8. The Bridal Suite Organizer:

The Bridal Suite Organizer

This person is in charge of making sure the bridal suite is tidy, all the bridesmaid gifts are collected and put away for safe keeping, or taken back to their rooms at the resort before the wedding ceremony.

This person is in charge of making sure the bridal suite is tidy, all the bridesmaid gifts are collected and put away for safe keeping, or taken back to their rooms at the resort before the wedding ceremony, in case of after party in the bridal suite.

They are also in charge of making sure their is a clean and aesthetically pleasing area/ backdrop for the photographer to take flat lay photography and photos of the brides dress & bridal accessories.

9. DJ / Playlist Queen

This Bridesmaid should be in charge of creating a morning playlist and sharing it with the bridal party ahead of time, to ensure everyone's favorite songs are included, plus the Bride’s favorite songs - Keep the vibes high for the morning of!
